Alisdair joined CFA as a Field Assistant in 2003. His duties require him to undertake a wide variety of archaeological work including excavations, evaluations, surveys and watching briefs. His responsibilities encompass all aspects of fieldwork, the production of reports, and direction of field staff and plant. His archaeological experience has been gained from work on a variety of research and commercial projects. He has also worked for the National Museums of Scotland, the Council for Scottish Archaeology, the Caithness Archaeological Trust and the University of Edinburgh.
He has excavated and surveyed a wide range of site types including Neolithic, Bronze and Iron Age, Roman, Pictish, Medieval, and Modern, in upland, rural, and urban settings.
