Bruce has been an archaeologist and cultural heritage consultant since 1993. He has worked for a number of consultancies throughout the UK and has experience of working in the Mediterranean for Sydney University, Australia.
Bruce is currently a Project Manager with CFA Archaeology Ltd. His principal responsibilities in this post include: acting as an Archaeological Consultant for large infrastructure developments; managing projects conducted by CFA Field Officers; project development; production of Cultural Heritage reports for Environmental Impact Assessments; producing reports to publication standard; and editing reports.
Bruce has authored over sixty technical reports and publications for a range of clients. He has acted as consultant for several companies, including Wimpey Homes, Stewart Milne Homes, Persimmon Homes, Robertson Homes, Bellway Homes, Muir Homes and Westpoint Homes.
Bruce has a wealth of experience in managing large linear route projects. He acted as archaeological consultant for Scottish Water on the Security of Dundee Water Supply Project (27km). During this project he managed the monitoring programme and designed and initiated a series of mitigation measures in response to discoveries made during monitoring. He authored the Cultural Heritage chapter for the Environmental Statement for the 50km long Aberdeen to Lochside gas pipeline (TRANSCO) and went on jointly to manage the archaeological mitigation works required during the construction phase.
Recently Bruce’s project work has included the production of cultural heritage chapters for Environmental Statements for proposed windfarm developments. He is currently conducting Environmental Impact Assessment’s on windfarm applications for Scottish Power and National Wind Power.
He is fully conversant with the relevant planning guidelines and health and safety requirements for Scotland and the UK. |
