Leonard joined CFA as a Field Assistant in 2003. He undertakes a wide variety of archaeological work including excavations, evaluations, surveys and watching briefs. His responsibilities encompass all aspects of fieldwork, the production of reports, and direction of field staff and plant. His archaeological experience has been gained from work on a variety of research and commercial projects. He has also worked for the National Museums of Scotland.

Leonard also acts as CFA’s Palaeoenvironmental Technician for post-excavation projects, which includes the processing of retrieved environmental samples and sorting of the processed material.
