Has worked on a number of projects where the construction and manipulation of databases were heavily involved, including the identification and analysis of sites on the Ardnamurchan penninsula, as part of the Ardnamurchan Transitions Project, and Neolithic enclosures in Scotland, as part of the Northern Enclosures project. Further, as part of a PhD at the University of Newcastle, he is involved in the production of a database concerning a series of landscapes across southern and western Scotland. This involves the creation of a Geographical Information System using a combination of ArcGIS and Microsoft Access that will amalgamate all respective data sets, whilst providing media for visual representation and analysis of these. He has also completed a programme of research training at both Masters and PhD level, (at the Universities of Manchester and Newcastle respectively), a major part of which was the handling of data, specifically electronic, in an appropriate medium. |
