Prehistoric Settlement in West Yorkshire: Early Bronze Age Activity and an Iron Age Enclosure
CFA has a new article in ‘Prehistoric Yorkshire’ detailing our excavations of a rural Iron Age settlement in West Yorkshire. We uncovered evidence of enclosed fields adjacent to a settlement with a roundhouse, grain store, and more - showing both work and domestic life.

A Later Prehistoric Settlement and Early Medieval Activity in Perth and Kinross
Discover CFA’s latest article in SAIR! Our 2019 excavations at Loak Farm, Perth and Kinross, revealed a thriving Bronze Age community living in timber roundhouses and producing surplus grain which they stored in raised granaries. Evidence shows limited Iron Age occupation and early medieval re-use of the site for metalworking and crop processing.

Late Neolithic, Bronze Age and Iron Age activity at Hargham Road, Attleborough
CFA is proud to announce the publication of an article in the most recent volume of 'Norfolk Archaeology', following an excavation in Attleborough in 2021. Prehistoric pottery was recovered from a pit cluster, indicating domestic Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age activity, and a ring gully and further pits were radiocarbon dated to the Iron Age.

Neolithic and Bronze Age Settlement in Angus
CFA's article 'Neolithic and Bronze Age Settlement in Angus' discusses excavations which confirmed the presence of features dating from the Neolithic and the Bronze Age. The early prehistoric features largely consisted of discrete pits, although two pit groupings may have been small post-built structures of a semi-permanent nature. The confirmed later prehistoric features consisted of a ring-ditch house and a ring-groove house.

The article discusses an archaeological site which featured a roundhouse, a series of ovens, and a semi-rectangular post-built structure.
