We provide interpretative architectural analysis through measured surveys for redevelopment, evaluation and conservation purposes.

An extensive wealth of experience in this field means we can produce building condition surveys for a range of building styles, materials and periods. Our methodologies and knowledge are continually revised to ensure our staff are trained in the most up-to-date metric survey methods and are fully aware of the most recent legislation affecting the built environment.

Our Buildings Survey Team takes great care to tailor the specifications of each particular job to ensure the most appropriate scheme of works that will satisfy planning control, whilst minimising the cost to our clients. We are employed by a broad spectrum of clients involved with Historic Buildings, from individual property owners through to large-scale developers, charitable and government bodies.

Our historic building survey work at Stanley Mills, on behalf of Historic Scotland, has been included in guidelines for best practice. Please explore our building survey work which range from small steadings to large-scale industrial complexes and World War 2 Fleet Air Arm Airfields (see more here).
