COMMUNITY EXCAVATION – Lodge Moor POW Camp at Redmires Plantation, Sheffield

Come engage with Sheffield’s Lakeland history and help us investigate the former Lodge Moor POW Camp. Help us to understand the form, function, and size of the POW camp huts through archaeological excavation, recording, and survey.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in all on-site activities.

Lodge Moor POW Camp at Redmires Plantation

Where: Lodge Moor POW camp, Sheffield

When: 22 August 2022 – 01 September 2022 (excluding Sunday, 28 August)

What: Excavations will work to reveal the upstanding brick and concrete remains of the POW camp as well as explore the below-ground level to discover the depth of the buildings and to investigate any unknown archaeological features
